We’re Going to Europe!

I’m so excited to tell all of you that we are going to Europe in 11 days (11 DAYS!!!). To be honest with all of you I didn’t think it was going to happen. I know back in February in my How Much I’m Spending & Where I’m Traveling to in 2017 I said I was going for sure but March and April really derailed me. Without getting into too many specifics, a lot of things happened, including but not limited to:

  • 2 Bigger Birthdays to celebrate and prep for (Angus’s and my sister Kimberly’s)
  • My Cousin had a baby as well as a ton of other family events
  • My role at work changed, for the better, but busier, a lot busier.
  • We decided to sell our home (again, more of that once we sell it!!!)
  • I was doing a lot of  reevaluating around my blog and youtube
  • Overall just questioning life itself and where I’m going with it (quarter-life crisis alert)

So yes, a lot of things were happening and more things are still happening, its one of the reasons I let go of this blog a little bit because my priority for it hasn’t been there. But when I booked my tickets I realized how excited I was to tell all of you what we were going to Europe for 10 days, to write the post and create videos on all the places we were going. And then I realized how important this blog is to me and how much I have just missed writing.

And then I realized how important this blog is to me and how much I have just missed writing. And I need to get back on this. Deprioritize Netflix binges and reprioritize this blog.

Our 10 Days in Europe Itinerary

Now that the personal bits are taken care of, on to where we are going! We (2 of my cousins and I) will be leaving May 13 and returning May 23 on a 10-day European adventure and I can’t be more excited. For some reason choosing the places we were going to was really stressful for me, for a lot of reasons:

  1. I wanted to keep it as cheap as possible
  2. I wanted to visit somewhere I have never been
  3. I wanted to do three cities/countries
  4. We wanted to fly out the day we landed in London
  5. I was trying to coordinate between three different people

And for all those reasons I made planning the trip a lot more stressful than it needed to be. I think I’ll do a post on how to plan a group trip, cause boy oh boy that is a topic in itself.

Rambles aside here’s where we are going, technically our first night is on a plane. It takes 9 hours to fly from here to London and we lose about 9 hours in between, so a day will be spent travelling!

Our 10 Day Europe Itinerary:

  • 3 Nights in Budapest, Hungry – I’m so excited, pictures of Budapest has literally taken my breath away.
    • Pinterest, pointed me to this amazing Guide on Budapest, filled with more amazing photos!
  • 2 Nights in Berlin, Germany – I’ve been to Berlin before but we were sick nearly the entire time so I missed out on seeing a few key monuments.
  • 4 Nights in London, England  (Recommendations on Hotels & AirBnb’s in London) –  If I am going to Europe, London will always be on my list because it’s my favourite city. My cousin Monica has never been there before so I am excited to show her around and my favourite parts of the city!!!

Other Ways to Spend 10 Day in Europe

Option 1: Rome, Florence, London

I really really really wanted to do this itinerary for Europe this year, but the dates just didn’t work out for us, it ended up pushing my budget way over and I wasn’t willing to do that when there were so many other options.

I would recommend this trip to all of us that want an Italian adventure, mixing the old and modern of Rome with the amazing culture of Florence!

Option 2: Vienna, Prague, London

This was another one that if we left later or planned earlier the dates would have worked and this would have been the most amazing of trips.

If you are craving a cheaper trip yet still breathtakingly beautiful trip, go and do this itinerary. Message me and make me jealous because Vienna and Prague will amazing.

Option 3: Paris, Barcelona, London

To me this is a classic Europe itinerary, you get the modern and bustle of London, the old and beauty of Paris and the sunny and booming life of Barcelona! We didn’t do this one because the majority of us have been to these places already and it’s amazing so if you haven’t, you should.

Option 4: Santorini, Athens, London

Angus and I are actually planning to so this trip next May. Beaches in Santorini, the oldness of Athens, and the big city in London. Again this is one of those perfect mixes for me and that’s why I love going to Europe. You can fly to so many different parts of Europe in a couple of hours and see so many different cultures.
